‘A Choral Forest’ is was a concert performed at Lichfield Cathedral, hosted by Air Arts, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton and supported by Derby and Lichfield Cathedrals. The concert took place amidst an exhibition of beautiful tree sculptures in a new art installation created by artists E J Lance, and featured the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB)’s staff wellbeing choir in their first ever public performance, singing alongside the Derby and Lichfield Cathedral choirs.
This concert reflects on the challenges of the last two years, and to celebrate the power of music and art to heal. The work was inspired by poetry and pictures shared by our NHS staff during the pandemic. The five trees in the ‘forest’ stand over 2 metres tall, and reflect each of UHDB’s five hospital sites.Back to trust
